Hi all

I was wondering what is the purpose of having a stretched frame on your US rigs is compared to a standard/short frame rig like we have here in Australia ?

Yep they look way cooler and they do ride much smoother but do take much more room to turn.. Ahh the price you pay to look LARGE.

That's what I was thinking as I too was pondering the stretched trucks. They must be pretty much road only as it would make it trick or impossible to get into some spots.

Does it make much of a difference in ride? I mean the seats are pretty comfy with a suspension of their own, from what I've heard anyway.

It makes a lot difference in ride ride in a truck that is 225 or 230 and ride in a large car that is 330 it is a HUGE difference in ride and a good driver can make a long rig back about where he wants it.

I think I remember my dad saying something about using stretched tractors on trucks hauling flamables - safety thing - they also had powered fifth wheel disconnects - but I think those were outlawed - anybody confirm this????
