Thanks guys.
Steve, I don't think you have much competition on the wheels coming from me! It took me about 3 days to make the wheels and hubs.... I am happy with how they turned out though, especially the rears. I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but the wheels are wider that stock on every axle too, making the stance 1cm wider. The box is also 1cm wider than normal. The tires I have ordered are taller and wider than the Tamiya ones so they should fill out the rims just right and add to the off-highway look of the truck. I hadn't planned on lifting the gate but that might be a cool idea! I will look through your channel tonight and see if I can find the video. Reg |

If not I'll get 1 in 2 weeks at the cabin fever show . My 1st steel wheels where stamped in steel much like you did . accept I tried to weld together
I'll tell you this , making wheels in mass by hand sucks !!! I'll never go back to that again . It's ok for yourself kinda fun and a lil pride that you can do it , but gets old fast .edit : not on you tube but in my p'bucket a pic at the gate ![]() vid

Thanks for the pictures Steve.
I had a couple things come in the mail today(besides bills)! I got the front suspension that I picked up from Alfy(thanks ) and my order from RC4WD. Once I assembled the front suspension and figured out where it needed to go, I took it back apart and made up this big mount for the front springs and torque arms. I turned the axle around and swapped the spindles left for right so that the threaded holes pointed forward. This will give me an anchor point on the axle for the torque arms. I will also add more to this assembly so that the bumper is supported by it but this was enough for today. It is beautiful here and a shame to have spent most of the day indoors but I can't help myself....![]() ![]() ![]() Now that the front suspension is in I can almost see it driving around. Just need to mount the steering servo and buy a receiver.... ![]() ![]() ![]()

As always, that's great work!
The wheels really complete the truck. |
