Agree with Nathan, it's all preference. Can't go wrong with JR or Futaba. Wish US r/c consumers had more choices but that's it if you ever plan to have your gear serviced.

For the motor it depends what speed controller and transmission you're using. Telling us the weight of the truck would help too.
