Thanks for compliments guys. I'm trying to stay focused on the small details. This build has encouraged me to revisit my other stuff and add detail. Yesterday I did some stuff on the Euc and replaced some screws on the Volvo with scale bolts.
Nate, the red handle on the ball valve is shrink tube. Gives it the rubberized look. My Dad put me in touch with the second owner of the real truck and he has some more photos of it for me. May be too late to add or change some things but hopefully it will help to display the model at shows. At any rate I'm excited to see some more photos of our local logging history. Last November we took a trip up island to see my future sister inlaw and her boyfriend. He is a woods foreman for WFP so he took us out to see their current logging sites. One of the new roads was 30% grade! He said that only a couple of the drivers would haul on it, the rest didn't want anything to do with it! Scary steep and very narrow! Back to work finishing up the 850... My parents were nice enough to take the horn in to the local chrome plating joint for me so it's now nice and shiny. Yesterday I messed around and made the rest of the windows as well as the grab handles on the drivers side. I'm in the process of remaking the exhaust tips as the angle was wrong so I'll be finishing up those today and getting a coat of paint on them.

Nice work Reg!
![]() Your attention to detail on this truck shows how much this build means to you. ( and the fact you hate the detail work )We have all been amazed during this build and it's nice to see it all continue and include the final touches Thanks for keeping us posted and I hate to see the day you post the 850 as officially done ![]() ![]() Mario |

I made up some steps for the frame behind the water tank. In the pictures I was loaned yesterday you can see that it had one on the drivers side...passenger side is a guess...some had both, some had one, and some didn't have either...I guess no one will ever know for sure anyway because the truck is long gone and the guys that worked around her don't remember or are gone too. some new pics later...Reg |
