If I'm reading you correctly, you stripped the threaded hole on the motor? Short of drilling and tapping the holes to the next size up, I'd say there is no easy fix. Even that would be unlikely, as the holes in the motor cans are extruded, so drilling to the next size up may not leave enough material to cut the new threads anyway. Then you'd have to drill the hole in the pump larger too. Just get a new motor.

Gotta agree with espeefan.

In a situation like this, where you have a significant casing that the motor is mounted to, its probably both easier and safer to just replace the motor than try to repair the stripped mount hole.

Think about it - if the repair cuts loose, that gear moves in the pump casing, and oops, there goes the pump. OW, thats gonna hurt (plus metal fragments in your valves/line, doh!)

If replacing the motor is that expensive, you might try a braced-mounting for pump-casing and motor, where you can clamp/strap the pump down to the brace, mount the motor with the single screw, and then clamp/strap the motor in place. One of the machinists here could make you the mount.

But I sill think replacing the motor is both the safest for the pump, and cheapest/easiest for the assembly as a whole.

You could always put a helicoil in if you have room.

Most standard 540 size motors have 2 holes on each side. If one is stripped you might be able to just rotate the motor can to use the alternate holes.

yes there are 4 holes. 2 pairs. just spin it to the next set or change the 2$ motor

it is a mabuchi 540 size, 380 is unmistakenly smaller.

i thought you stripped the screwhead and couldnt remove it (that's bad).
